SEE THE NEED FOR THE SEED

We have been talking about seeds. Last month, we were reminded that only God can count the apples in one seed.

There is unlimited potential in every seed. Without the hope of this potential, we would not plant. We have to see the need for the seed.

Mark 4:26-29 describes a farmer planting his fields and waiting for the harvest as a metaphor of the Kingdom of God.

“This is what the Kingdom of God is like. A man scatters seed on the ground. Night and day, whether he sleeps or gets up, the seed sprouts and grows, though he does not know how... soon as the grain is ripe, he puts the sickle to it, because the harvest has come.”

The farmer has a plan, a vision for the seed he has planted. He plants the rows with purpose and with the hope of a great harvest.

HE SEES A NEED FOR THE SEED. If not for the harvest, he has no need for the seed. He knows that the seeds have life inside but until he plants – life isn’t realized. Having a vision for the seed matters! Our response, the action we take, the seeds we plant; matter in the lives of people.

We too, have to see the need for the seed before we act.

When I taught art I used to tell my students to look at what they were drawing.

I told them, “You can only draw what you can see.”

At Lakeshore Pregnancy Center, we see the need for seeds of truth, compassion, and hope every day in the lives of women, men, and families facing unplanned pregnancy. We see the Kingdom of God growing and we see the harvest.

Our vision dictates our response, the action we take, and the seeds we plant. Every seed we decide to plant, matters in the lives of people.

Now that you see it, come join us in the planting!
