GROWING GREATNESS

We have been talking a lot about seeds lately. It may seem like strange timing since we are exiting harvest time and preparing for winter. But we are thankful for seeds, without which, the harvest would never come.

I have come to realize that no matter how large or small the seed, the power is not found in the seed, the power is in the planting. Jesus taught and revealed truth so often, through story telling inthe form of parables. In Matthew 13:31-32, He demonstrated this through the mustard seed. “The Kingdom of Heaven is like a mustard seed planted in a field. It is the smallest of all seeds, but it becomes the largest of garden plants; it grows into a tree, and birds come and make nests in its branches.” God takes a mustard seed and it becomes a tree. He has done the same with you. The seeds you have planted throughout the year are growing greatness. You may think your seed is too small or insignificant but we are thankful for every seed that has been and will be planted into this ministry. We are thankful for how the lives of moms, dads and children (yet in the womb and newborns), are getting a glimpse of what the Kingdom of Heaven is like through you. Jill is one of those moms and you are part of her story. When Jill’s pregnancy test result showed “positive, she began to cry. She was shocked. Jill didn’t want to be pregnant. She wanted to go to college, the father of her child wanted to go to college. She wished she could go back and do things differently. Together we helped Jill further explore her life, her choices, and her faith. Before leaving, we prayed with her, asking God to be very real to her and to help her take one small step at a time. After the prayer Jill looked her advocate in the eye and said, “Thank you”. She was grateful that we were willing to walk alongside her, provide her with a listening ear, encouragement, and compassionate support. *Jill’s” name has been changed for confidentiality This is what the Kingdom of Heaven is like. This is why your seed matters. If God can make a strong tree from a tiny mustard seed, imagine what He can do in your life and with your seed! Thank you and keep planting on behalf of every Jill we continue to serve. With thanksgiving, Carolyn Plant now by going to donating through our website.
