WE ALL NEED A HERO

“A good father is one of the most unsung, unpraised, unnoticed, and yet one of the most valuable assets in our society.” – Billy Graham
A father has such an important role in the life of his children. Men are hardwired by God to protect, provide, lead, and love deeply. If these traits are not demonstrated, children are left vulnerable and disconnected. When a father demonstrates these traits, his children feel safe and see him as their hero.
Deuteronomy 6:6-9, gives specific instruction to fathers as they lead their home.
“These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates.”
It is clear that a father’s role is to be present in his home and leading by example.
Impress your children. Talk to your children. Tell them about God. Love God in front of them. Love their mom. Honor her in front of them. Walk with your children. Be present when they are asleep and when they are awake. Be their hero.
“Some people don’t believe in heroes, but they haven’t met my dad.”
