SANCTITY OF HUMAN LIFE

Sanctity of Human Life Sunday began in 1984 when then-President Ronald Reagan designated January 22 to be set aside to celebrate God’s gift of life, commemorate the many lives lost to abortion, and commit to protecting human life at every stage – from conception to natural death. January 2023 is the first post-Roe in our nation. Roe vs. Wade is no longer as we know it.

As we soberly consider the past year, with the overturn of Roe vs. Wade and Proposal Three, we have a vitally important decision before us: How do we stand and move forward? It’s helpful to draw wisdom from those who have gone before us. History and the scriptures point us to the radiant lives of heroes and saints, like Esther, who stood in the middle of chaos, moved by God’s leading for His glory. Ours is a season that demands prayer, quiet resolve, and wisdom from God. (Esther 4:16).

Sanctity of Human Life Sunday continues to be recognized by churches in January – and usually the Sunday closest to the date these court decisions were handed down. It is annually commemorated by thousands of churches and individuals who want to stand for Life.

On this page, we have brought together a number of resources to help your church highlight how abortion impacts our community. Please take a look at the selection below, including our 2023 Sanctity of Human Life Video that we encourage to be shared with your church during service through your website and social media.

If you are interested in having someone speak at your church in person or need some material, please contact us to schedule a speaker.

2024 material will be posted here soon. Check back mid-December.
