A visit to the ER is always surrounded by fear and uncertainty. What’s causing the pain? Tests and scans, poking and prodding and a thousand questions. That was the setting that Haleigh found herself in when she found out she was pregnant. Only sixteen years old and afraid and in the ER - with her parents - she learned the truth. Amidst the shock and disbelief, one profound message sounded through the stories shared by both her and her parents: Deep concern for each other. While Haleigh wrestled with shock and disbelief at the news she was deeply concerned: How did her parents feel? How hard is this impacting them? Her father shared his deepest concern: How did Haileigh feel? How was this impacting her? The deep empathy each shared for the other exhibited the very bond within that family. Haileigh commented on the great impact Positive Options had throughout that season. They brought nothing but encouragement and help through the Positive Options education program and personal care from an advocate. It is our honor to be a source of support and hope to young mothers and fathers as they navigate the new waters of pregnancy and parenthood.
